9 SIGNS YOU'RE READY FOR DARK PAINT

9 SIGNS YOU'RE READY FOR DARK PAINT

Dark colours are trending in interiors but there's no doubting that decorating with dark paint is quite a scary move. Yes, you can re-decorate if it turns out not to be for you, but who wants the hassle and cost of that? Err, not me! I knew deep down that dark paint was something that I just had to try. If you recognise these signs, perhaps it’s time you took the plunge…

  1. You’re pinning and liking every moody-toned interior in your social feeds but scroll on by the pale or pastel schemes even if the styling is great

  2. You catch yourself at home imagining just how good that wall would look painted in a dark colour. The answer is very, very good. You know it!

  3. Restaurants, bars and shops score bonus points with you if there’s a dark décor involved - like the Rockett St George pop-up at Liberty above.

  4. Most of your new clothes involve a dark and moody print

  5. You’ve started testing the water with your other half.  And you’re working out persuasion tactics in case the reaction is lukewarm

  6. You’re mentioning it to friends – best to give them a little bit of warning

  7. In moments of doubt you consider a lighter shade but know in your gut you’ll regret it

  8. An ‘oh, really?’ reaction doesn’t bother you, or not for long – and not enough to stop you daydreaming about how good this could look

  9. In fact, you can’t stop thinking about it – you’re obsessed! One way or another, this is happening!

Sounding familiar?  Are you ticking the boxes to give dark paint a try? If you're about to take the plunge,  have a peep at my post about what you can expect with a move to dark walls.
